2017 Red Ribbon “Remember, Act & Heal” Vigil

Dan WhittenEvents

Losing someone to alcohol or drugs is hard. You’re not alone.

The Collaborative is partnering with several community stakeholders to host the first ORAH Vigil. ORAH stands for “Onslow Remember, Act & Heal”.

The memorial vigil will take place at the end of Red Ribbon Week, October 30th. The service will be from 6-7 pm at the fountain area of the Jacksonville Commons Rec Center, (100 Recreation Lane, Jacksonville, NC).

We will have memorial boards for you to post a photo of who you lost. Participants will be able to sign their name as a pledge to remember those we’ve lost.

It isn’t enough to just remember. We must turn our pain and remembrance into action. We will have a petition that participants can sign. The petition will be addressed to our state House and Senate representatives urging them to take an active role in rehab facilities. More about the petition is here.

We will gather around the fountain area and the service will begin.

Bring your family and friends, and wear something red.
